A friend and mentor of mine posted a very controversial video recently about eating healthy.
I’ll get into that in a second, but first why this can be so important. When was the last time you truly questioned yourself on why you do what you do? Do you know why you eat the way you do, why you read what you read, why you work where you work or why you move the way you move? You do not have to question all of these right now, but keep in mind that those decisions you make are shaping your life and will be a reflection of how healthy you are
Now the video is by JP Sears and is entitled If Meat Eaters Ate Like Vegans and is part of his Ultra Spiritual Series that is always worth checking out. The beauty of the video is that it completely flips many of the arguments for being vegan upside down. The same can be done for any dogmatic diet. For gluten-free…eat strictly gluten, for dairy-free…eat only dairy or for eating fully raw…eat only cooked foods. This is great because there is always another way to looking at eating healthy. There is always going to be somebody who feels differently than you about what they eat and do. All of these things are actually a good thing because we can make these choices as long as they feel right for us.
It is my feeling that JP made a video like this not to piss people off about food (although I’m sure it did a great job of this based on the comments), but rather to just allow them to think differently. If you haven’t already I want you to please stop here and go watch his video.
Now that you are back, are you thinking differently about what it means to eat healthy or just what you eat in general. It does not mean that you have to change your mind, but simply have an understanding that we all have different feelings and certain foods are going to work for each of us. Find yours and it really can change your life.
Now to the comments section of the video. I’m not going to come back at anybody for anything they said, but simply say that people are talking about the subject. This is the point. Awareness and awakening in all forms. When each of us questions and understands the opposite of what we do beautiful things can occur. We can make choices from a place of understanding for our health and all aspects of our life.
To hear a little more of JP check out this interview I did with him on the Barenaked Health Podcast. It adds a bit more comedy to health, but still touches on very important topics.
Have a Great Day!
